River Gold for Ireland on the Tees

Ireland have claimed gold in the River International on the Tees river in Darlington, England.  Captained by Ulster man Andrew Sloan along with his brother Mark Sloan and , Brian Russell, Stewart Moore, Joe Winder and Peter Doherty and under the stewardship of manager Seamus O Neill and Brian Larkin they have achieved a quite remarkable result with a great away victory.

A huge congratulations to Mark Sloan who picked up the Moc Morgan Trophy as the top individual rod with just 5 placing points. He was duly followed home in third place by the captain Andrew Sloan with Brian Russell also making the top ten. Ireland had a total of  42 place points with Scotland in second with 46 place points and England in third with 47 place points. Wales made up the 4th spot with 66 place points.
